Prosper: Tax Help
Tax Help, a program of Foundation Communities, provides free income tax preparation to households earning less than $55,000 annually. With your help, during the 2020 tax season which runs from mid-January - April 15th, we will prepare over 20,000 tax returns resulting in over $35 million in refunds returned to the pockets of those in our community who need it most. Our tax centers will operate multiple locations in Austin and one in Round Rock. In order to accomplish this amazing feat, we will engage over 600 volunteers as tax preparers, client liaisons and translators. Want to see what we accomplished last year? Take a look!
Clients Who Need ITINs
Do you know that we serve clients regardless of whether they have a Social Security Number? Clients who do not have and are not eligible for a Social Security Number may obtain an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) for the purposes of paying taxes. To obtain the ITIN, a client must complete their tax return and complete a Form W7, which is the application for an ITIN.
Certifying to Complete the W7
We encourage any tax preparer to complete this training, so that they can accurately complete the W7 for clients who need an ITIN. To certify, you must complete the following steps IN THIS ORDER:
Thank you
We cannot serve as many clients as we will without your help. THANK YOU for giving your time to us!
